A Little More About Me
I graduated summa cum laude with a Masters of Science in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine from the University of Western States. I have passed the Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) exam, with full certification in progress. As part of my work towards the CNS designation, I am also part of a nutrition mentorship program, which gives my clients access to the wisdom of seasoned nutrition experts with over 60 years of combined experience. I have also completed all coursework for the Institute for Functional Medicine's Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner (FMCP) designation, with certification in progress.
I've been in your shoes, with chronic GI distress and inflammation causing me to miss out on sports and shy away from social events. With functional medicine and nutrition, I reclaimed my health, my confidence, and my life. I started AFM to help go-getters and weekend warriors like you transform their gastrointestinal health and tame chronic inflammation and autoimmunity to get back to doing more of what they love.
I currently live in Charlotte, NC with my husband, Chris, and my golden retriever puppy, Milo. When I'm not diving into the latest nutrition research, I can be found savoring a cup of ginger-turmeric tea with friends, rereading The Luminaries for the umpteenth time, and taking long excursions through the Charlotte greenways punctuated by frequent stops to pet all the dogs.
